Sun Petro
Reimagined Energy, Evolved Brand
A Company Reinventing Itself Needs a Digital Identity That Matches
Sun Petro underwent a complete brand evolution, shifting its identity to reflect a broader strategic direction within the oil and gas sector. A rebrand of this scale is a significant moment for any company. It is also a genuinely risky one if the digital rollout does not match the ambition and coherence of the new identity. A rebrand that looks inconsistent across touchpoints undermines the very credibility it was meant to build.
Bringing the new Sun Petro identity to life consistently across every digital touchpoint, from the website to social media to internal communication materials, with nothing left feeling disconnected from the new brand direction, was the clear mandate.
Translating a New Identity into a Coherent Digital Presence
The work began with the new brand guidelines as the foundation. Every subsequent decision, from website design to social content templates to internal communication materials, needed to trace back to those guidelines in a way that was recognisable and consistent.
The website redesign was the most visible piece of the rollout. It needed to communicate the new Sun Petro identity immediately to anyone arriving at the site, whether they were a longtime industry contact who remembered the old brand or a new audience encountering the company for the first time. Navigation, visual language, tone of content and overall structure were all rebuilt around the new identity.
Social media launch introduced the new brand to existing followers and new audiences simultaneously, with a content strategy designed to explain the rebrand's rationale rather than simply presenting a new logo without context. People generally respond better to change when they understand why it happened.
How we
solved it.
More than 50 brand assets were created across the engagement, covering everything from social media templates to internal presentation materials to marketing collateral. This volume of asset development was necessary to ensure that anyone within the organisation creating content, whether for external marketing or internal communication, had access to materials that maintained the new brand identity correctly.
Internal communication materials specifically addressed a challenge that many rebrands overlook. Employees need to understand and feel comfortable with a new identity before they can represent it confidently to clients and partners. The internal rollout was treated with the same care as the external one.
The work,

The Sun Petro
outcome.
The numbers describe genuine success. A 100% brand consistency score across channels means the new identity was applied correctly and uniformly everywhere it appeared, with no fragmentation or confusion. Website traffic grew by 180% post rebrand, suggesting the new identity and improved digital presence were genuinely attracting more interest. Social following tripled.
A rebrand is only as successful as its execution, and Sun Petro's engagement is proof that even a complex brand evolution can roll out coherently when the digital strategy is built around the new identity from the very first decision rather than retrofitted afterward, much like the storytelling first approach TotalEnergies took for its own energy sector brand and Xyst took for its complete beauty brand transformation.
