Fourth Partner Energy case study
Overview

Hundreds of Megawatts. One Website That Was Not Carrying the Weight.

Fourth Partner Energy is one of India's most active distributed solar companies, focused on rooftop and ground mounted solar for commercial and industrial clients across multiple states, with a portfolio measured in hundreds of megawatts. The operational track record is real. The team is experienced. The project pipeline is substantial.

But the website was not communicating any of that effectively. An industrial CFO evaluating solar capex options, an institutional investor assessing the company's pipeline and a potential channel partner scoping technical credentials were all arriving at a site that described capabilities in general terms and gave them very little specific evidence to take away. The digital presence was dramatically underselling a business that had earned the right to present itself far more powerfully.

The Challenge

What Sophisticated Buyers Actually Want from an Energy Site

Consumer brand websites and infrastructure company websites have almost nothing in common. A solar energy company website is not trying to create desire or build emotional connection. It is trying to answer precise questions that sophisticated people are asking. How many projects has this company completed? In which sectors? What is the financial structure of the partnerships they offer? Who are their existing clients?

The best infrastructure websites answer those questions clearly and quickly, and they do it for multiple different types of visitors who are each looking for different information. Serving all of them without making any of them work too hard was the actual design brief.

Our Approach

How we
solved it.

Work started with user research before any design decisions were made. Three primary visitor types were mapped: commercial and industrial clients considering solar for their facilities, institutional investors and PE firms evaluating the portfolio, and technical and channel partners scoping integration requirements. Each of those visitor types got their own navigation path through the site, their own primary information and their own conversion action.

The design language was built to communicate technical rigour. Clean layouts, data forward sections and real project photography rather than generic clean energy imagery. The impact numbers including megawatts deployed, CO2 equivalent saved and the number of active client sites were given prominent placement because for this audience those numbers are the most powerful form of communication.

The build was fully responsive, which matters more than it might seem for a company whose clients are often looking at the site on a phone in the field or on a tablet in a boardroom meeting.

The Shift in Investor Conversations

The Fourth Partner Energy
outcome.

Fourth Partner Energy now has a digital presence that reflects what the business has actually built. Investor conversations start from a stronger foundation because the credibility building work that used to happen only in person now happens before the first meeting. Client facing sections give procurement teams enough information to move a conversation forward rather than simply prompting a generic enquiry.

A website doesn't directly close deals in infrastructure and renewable energy. What it does is make relationships that are already forming move faster, starting from a more informed place, much as UPL's global website rebuild across six continents and Baring Private Equity Partners' institutional grade digital presence were built to do for their own audiences.
