Overview

Helping Farmers Grow More, Communicated to a Genuinely Global Audience

UPL exists to help farmers grow more in ways that are better for the planet, operating across a genuinely global footprint that spans six continents. That scale creates an unusual communication challenge. The company needed a single digital platform capable of representing a coherent global brand while still speaking meaningfully to farmers whose languages, growing conditions, crop types and digital habits vary enormously from one region to the next.

Reimagining and constructing UPL's global website and digital marketing platform as part of a broader digital transformation initiative, with the website serving as the foundation for everything that followed, was the assignment.

The Challenge

Research Before a Single Design Decision

Before any design work began, UPL and Futuready conducted extensive qualitative and quantitative research across six continents. This was not a token gesture toward global awareness. It was the foundation that made everything else possible. Understanding how farmers in different regions actually search for information, what concerns dominate their decision making and how they prefer to receive communication shaped every subsequent choice about the platform's structure and content.

This kind of research first approach is unusual in website projects, where the temptation is often to design first and validate later. Doing the research first was the only approach that made sense for a platform that needed to genuinely serve farmers across six continents rather than simply look impressive to a corporate stakeholder.

Our Approach

How we
solved it.

The website architecture was built to support a consistent global brand identity while allowing content and communication to be localised meaningfully for different regions. A farmer in Brazil and a farmer in Southeast Asia have very different growing conditions, different primary crops and different relationships with agricultural technology. The platform needed to serve both without either feeling like an afterthought.

Social media management extended this same balance to UPL's ongoing digital presence, with content strategies that maintained brand consistency while remaining genuinely relevant to the specific agricultural contexts of different regions.

Continuous platform refinement and a programme of digital campaign launches followed the initial build, ensuring the platform continued to evolve based on how farmers were actually engaging with it rather than remaining static after the initial launch.

A Digital Identity That Finally Matches the Mission

The UPL
outcome.

UPL strengthened its brand communication globally and achieved measurably stronger engagement with the farmer audiences across its many markets. Online presence and brand awareness both grew through the combination of the new platform and the ongoing campaign work that followed it. A digital identity that genuinely reflects its position as a leader in sustainable agricultural innovation, communicated consistently to a global audience while remaining relevant to farmers in their specific local context, is what UPL has now, the same balance Fab Habitat had to strike managing cross market e commerce performance and Fourth Partner Energy had to strike building a credible website for a multi stakeholder infrastructure audience.
