Glenmark
Empowering Health, Digitally
Two Audiences. One Brand. Completely Different Conversations.
Pharmaceutical brands rarely get to choose a single audience. Glenmark, with operations across dermatology, respiratory, oncology and nine other therapeutic areas, had to communicate simultaneously with two groups who evaluate information completely differently. A dermatologist weighing up a new treatment option reads for clinical detail, published data and mechanism of action. A patient managing a chronic skin condition reads for comprehension, reassurance and practical guidance. The tone, depth and format that earns credibility with one actively alienates the other.
This tension needed a structural answer before any content was produced. Not a compromise between the two audiences, but a system that genuinely served each of them properly.
A Portfolio with No Single Reader
HCP engagement and patient facing brand building had to run side by side across Glenmark's full therapeutic portfolio. The digital presence existed, but content was inconsistent in quality, sporadic in publication and not structured around either audience's actual information needs. Search visibility was low because the content programme had no keyword architecture behind it. Pieces were being published without targeting the specific queries that either HCPs or patients were actively searching.
Demand generation campaigns had reach but limited engagement quality. The gap between someone seeing the content and someone meaningfully engaging with it was wide across every vertical.
How we
solved it.
The work,
in view.
The Glenmark Pharmaceuticals
outcome.
A 200% increase in HCP engagement rate is not a social media vanity metric. In pharmaceutical marketing, a practitioner who genuinely engages with educational content is meaningfully more likely to prescribe or recommend a product when it's clinically appropriate. Making Glenmark a credible and useful presence in those practitioners' professional lives was the entire point of the content programme, and the engagement numbers say it landed. Charak Pharma's Ayurvedic wellness content, Jubilant Biosys's scientific thought leadership and Sun Pharma's global website rebuild each carry a version of this same credibility test, just for different pharma audiences.
