Tata AIG
Building Trust, One Frame At A Time
Insurance Sells Better Through Stories Than Through Statistics
Tata AIG General Insurance, the joint venture between the Tata Group and AIG operating since 2001, faced a challenge common to nearly every insurance brand. Insurance is a product people understand they need but rarely want to think about. It is abstract until the moment it suddenly becomes very concrete, and most marketing in the category fails to bridge that gap convincingly.
Building genuine trust and simplifying insurance for everyday consumers through video content, rather than through the dense, jargon heavy communication the category often defaults to, was the brief.
Evidence, Not Assertion
You cannot tell someone to trust your brand and expect it to work. Trust in insurance specifically has to be demonstrated through evidence: real people whose claims were honoured, real situations made simpler through clear communication, real moments where the brand's value became tangible rather than theoretical.
Humanising the insurance experience through storytelling that audiences could genuinely relate to, rather than building campaigns around abstract brand attributes, is what this understanding pushed the entire content strategy toward.
How we
solved it.
Brand films established Tata AIG's identity and values at an emotional level, communicating what the company stood for beyond the transactional reality of policies and premiums. These pieces were produced with cinematic quality, recognising that brand trust is built partly through the perceived seriousness and craft of how a company presents itself.
Customer testimonial videos did the most direct trust building work. Real customers, in their own words, describing real experiences with claims and service. There is no substitute for this kind of authentic evidence in insurance marketing, and the testimonial programme was built to capture genuine stories rather than scripted endorsements.
Explainer content addressed the comprehension gap directly, breaking down policy types, coverage details and claims processes into formats that an everyday consumer could actually follow without needing an insurance background. This content served both education and trust building simultaneously, since clarity itself is a form of trustworthiness in a category known for confusing fine print.
More than 40 videos were produced across these three pillars, creating a substantial content library that worked together rather than existing as disconnected pieces.

The Tata AIG
outcome.
Video views across campaigns exceeded 8 million, indicating the content was reaching well beyond Tata AIG's existing customer base into genuinely new audiences. Video engagement rate reached 3.5x, a sign that people were watching attentively rather than scrolling past. Brand trust score improved by 150%, the metric that matters most for an insurance brand and the clearest validation that the storytelling strategy worked, the same validation SUD Life earned building digital brand awareness among young professionals and Schindler earned through corporate video built for professional trust at scale.
